Decarbonization Wedges in the Deep Decarbonization Pathways Scenarios

    Paris

The Deep Decarbonization Pathways Project allowed to develop long term energy scenarios for sixteen countries representing three-fourths of world CO2 emissions. On this basis, ANCRE (French National Alliance for Energy Research Coordination) has developed an original methodology in order to analyze the relative impacts of sectoral demand actions and of low carbon electricity generation options. This Decarbonization Wedges study allows to measure the strategic importance of the corresponding seventeen options, to identify the key barriers to their accelerated diffusion and finally, to analyze the relevant research and innovation policies.

This side-event will take place at Le Bourget on the French Pavilion from 11:00am to 1:00pm, with the participation of:

    -          Patrick Criqui, CNRS, ANCRE GP9

    -          Henri Waisman, IDDRI, DDPP study

    -          Nathalie Alazard-Toux, IFPEN, ANCRE GP9
