COP22 has been the opportunity for an intense outreach activity for the DDPP network

The cross-cutting lessons learnt from DDPP phase 1, as synthetized in the collective Issue Brief published just before COP22 “, could be shared with the international community at several side-events:

  • Tools for transformation: Low Emissions Development Strategies” , on November 14 2016 co-organized by Iddri and the German Federal Ministry of Environment
  • “Low Carbon Development in Addressing Climate Change”, on November 15 at Korea Pavilion, co-organized by IDDRI andCSDLAP
  • “Implementing the Paris Agreement: Challenges and Opportunities”, on November 16 in Chinese Pavilion, organized by NCSC
  • “The new challenge of the climate and energy policies integration: the Italian perspective”, on November 17 in Italian Pavilion, organized by the Italian Presidency of Council

The country-specific lessons were also discussed in side-events where DDPP country research teams could share their country experiences and results :

  • The US, Chinese, Mexican, Canadian, Russian teams in the session on “National and Regional Low-Carbon strategies” of the Low-Emissions Solutions Conference organized by SDSN on November 14
  • The Japanese, French and Indian teams in the event “Is 1.5°C feasible? – Pathways for net zero GHG emissions consistent with the 1.5°C target” organized by LCS-RNet at the Japanese Pavilion on November 15
  • The Chinese team in the event “China’s low carbon development strategy” organized by NCSC at the Chinese Pavilion on November 15
  • The Indonesian team in the event “Development of Competency Based Training on Terrestrial Carbon Accounting to Support MRV” organized by CCROM at the Indonesian Pavilion on November 17

Finally, the DDPP network was explicitly acknowledged by High-Level Climate Champion Laurence Tubiana as a key contributor to the the 2050 Pathways Platform during its launching event on November 17.
